does anyone know what file replication algorithms are used for sync'ing mobile accounts? i am will be setting up some users over a low bandwidth VPN and want to make sure that only byte level deltas are written and not complete files (i.e. if another minute is added to an iMovie, just the changes in the file are sync'd not the whole thing).

this is very common technology so i'm assuming that apple take advantage of it, but i cannot find any literature on the subject.

thanks
Justin

That's far too geeky for a Mac forum ;-)

As you may know I'm almost exclusively a Mac user :)
I understand what you're asking but don't know whether OSX uses that method or not. It's not something that's ever come up for me.

I noticed something the other day that may have been related to what you're asking. Can't remember what it was now. I'll poke around my server again and see if it jogs my memory!
