Hi, we have recently upgraded to Tiger and now when we choose Print>Adobe PDF>color seps or not, the PDF writer "appears" to work, but then there is nothing, no file, etc. At first it kept "stopping print jobs", but now just "acts" like it is working. If you do this often, you know after the printer icon, an Adobe "A" icon pops up just before the pdf is completed - this is not happening now either.

What are we missing?

Thanks for any input.

From all applications or just one? Can you make a postscript file .ps and then distill to see if it's something with the acrobat version?

From Acrobat it works fine, but does this from Illustrator, haven't tried any others from the suite.

There are always problems with system "upgrades". something always gets broken. Tiger should not be put into a production enviroment until it's throroughly checked against all apps etc.

You might wnat to goto Adobe's site to see if there are any program updates for Tiger. But it's very early for various vendors to have made updates.

DMacster - Yes I can .ps a file and go from there - with Acrobat.

JM - I'm not having problems with running apps, or "various vendor's", just Adobe PDF Writer. Have been to their site and Adobe Studio help. This also happened when a hard drive crashed after recovering everything, and for that the fix was to reinstall Norton AntiVirus, however that has not been the case here.

We can boot off of another hd with 10.3, but at least for now I can save as pdf, then print to seps with that from Acrobat Pro.

JM - I get the impression you are a PC person...

No, I use macs - for a long time - doing the usual Adobe/Quark etc stuff.

Anytime, anybody "upgrades" their stuff, things always go wrong. I had a firewire drive blown out by 10.3.7. I've had all sorts of things happen with new versions of an OS as well as new versions of various apps. I've learned to be very cautious.

Ok. I just got the impression you weren't too excited about Tiger, unlike anyone else "Mac" I know.

Everything else seems to be running great, so far just this one little quirk. With Jaguar, we had used a beta version before the release, and the release smoothed out any oddities that had, but nothing affecting app operations, Panther was a seamless transition for us.

On installing Tiger to a new bootable hd, it gives you the open to import from an "old" computer - or hd and so far haven't noticed any missing files. I recently got a Mac Mini, and did the firewire transfer from my iBook, and little things like iTunes songs and some addresses in my Mail didn't make the move.

Thanks for the input!
