Hey all,

I just acquired a used Apple PowerBook 160, running system 7.1 with what looks to be 4MB of RAM (yes, I know this is old. I currently have a new G4 running Panther, but I love toys).

My question is, what is the newest system software that I can run on this? Is 7.5.5 going to run or am I just stuck with what I have?

Can I make this thing, at the very least, Internet ready?

Thanks,

- MT

The 68030 CPU will run 7.5.5, not sure I would try that OS with just 4 meg of RAM. (max RAM for a 160 is 14 meg, but I bet it is pricey)

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Yeah, I'm figuring that much... it's a shame I can't even make it Internet ready. I mean, PLEASE tell me that there's something I can do with this....

You can get it online with a Modem or a Appletalk to Ethernet box. Those are your two options really.

.:TUCK:.

What do those Appletalk to Ethernet boxes run in price? LOL... the 10 MB of RAM will already set me back $69 unless I find someone who has some....

Jim,

Thanks for the link. I'll keep my eye on it.
