MAC OS9 host file?

Does MAC OS9.2 have a host file... As UNIX Linux Windows do?
If so where would I find it....

The problem I am having is that I intergrated a Windows 2000 Exchange/File server into a MAC network and setup exchange mailboxes for all users... All worked flawlessly for ~ A week. Now one box cannot connect to the exchange server... It seems as though it cannot reslove the server name to connect to the mailbox but it can resolve the ip to a name. The funny thing is that the problematic box is using the exchange server as it's primary DNS server.... and no other boxes are having a problem with identical setup...

I was thinking if I add a host file for the servername this would resolve the problem temporarily...

Any help is appreciated!

Have you tried using the tcp/ip address rather than a name? Plus are you using the tcp/ip option and not apple talk for the exchange options?

Have you tried deleting the exchange prefs file in the system folder?

If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Yes I have tried the IP Address rather than the name... But it resolves the IP to a name after... there is no way of keeping it an IP in Outlook 2001... I did try deleting the outlook prefs. as well... But I figure that a host file would fix it, as it would know what IP is attached to the name... I did find something on the internet pointing me to create a file called "hosts" in the System folder under preferences. I did this but really have no way of testing it as Mac OS9 has no command line. .... Ping etc...
