I was curious if anyone else has been using BE for mac servers? Second part of this is if you've differentials with it? I've been doing these for awhile but it seems that when doing these, I have one OS X to a SAN and the differentials pull up about 158 gb of data, and I highly doubt that all that space has changed since the full. Is there any reason that it seems to be backing up every file ? There is also a low compression @ 1.29:1 as a lot of files are photos / CD images.

Make sure you Mac job are using the same selection list. Make sure the job are FULL and DIFF by modifiec time not archive bit..since mac has not archive bit. The full must complete sucessfully since backup exec keeps track of the modified times to each file it the backu exec database. If the job fails then the database is not updated and thus a diff of incremental will end of being close to a full again.

Thanks, I will try that, for Full's have been flaky & and hopefully Full will be perfect this weekend with 2 tapes.

One things to add, what if the job was together with windows / novell servers... would the modified time still work the same as archive bit?

If you had windows/novell resources are in the job the archive bits would not get reset on them.
