I loaded Mac OS 9 on to a power pc ide drive and it loaded fine. It is set to mount automatically but the computer will not startup from the new drive. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

It is very likely to be a disk driver issue. Has it been formatted with a 3rd party driver?

What model Mac is it in?
Does the disk mount if you boot from another disk/CD?

Thanks for the reply. It was a G3 desktop and my stupidity. The drive did not have the jumper set for single/master!
