MAC or MCX

What is the difference, which one should i be running when i execute it from a Batch file

Here is what i currently run

"C:\Program Files\Cognos\cer3\bin\runMAC32.exe" "C:\PPR test\test.mac"

MCX is the compiled version of the mac file.

Your batch file call is correct as a ne mcx file will be compiled each time teh mac file is called.
