Mac Office 2004 Excel pictures resolution

I'm told pictures pasted into an Excel sheet in Office 2004 on Mac show up with very crappy resolution. I don't have a Mac so I can't even look at this right now, and I'm not sure if it's all pictures, or just pictures that were pasted in in Excel 2003 (where they look fine) and then the workbook opened in Mac Office 2004.

Has anyone come across this, and is there a fix for it? Google wouldn't find me mention of it.
