Hi - I have just bought a Mac Mini and it works fine with the 15" TFT monitor (DVI) I was previously using with my PC. I bought a 17" Avixe S730 TFT monitor (VGA) yesterday and it will not work with my Mac Mini. When I start the Mac Mini with the new monitor the white Apple screen with Apple logo is displayed (the resolution possibly looks too low though??) and then after a while (when it tries to display my desktop I think) it gives an "Out of Range" message on the monitor and the screen is just black. The monitor is OK as I have successfully used it at the same resolution as my Mac Mini and with the VGA / DVI adaptor on my PC, but it will not work with the Mac Mini. Calls to Apple Care have not proved successful and can not get through to Avixe support. Any help would be much appreciated otherwise the money spent on this monitor is a complete waste. Thanks, John.

You might try this.

Look up the native resolution of the new monitor.

Connect your old monitor and go to System Preferences/Displays.

See if the proper resolution is there and, if so, select it. If not try Detect displays. select eh proper resolution, turn off and reconnect the new monitor.

Your not the only one with a MAC MINI that has video monitor problems. Check out the MACFIXIT web site, they have been following this issue for a while.
