I am writing a script to send gzipped log files to my e-mail account nightly. When I save them from Mac Mail, StuffIt cannot open the file (Error #17540) and running gunzip from the command line, I receive the following message.
gunzip: Proxy_logs.csv.gz: invalid compressed data--format violated
If I download the file through webmail, StuffIt and gunzip can open the file fine.
I have also ftp'd the file back to the original server after it was downloaded using Mac Mail and receive the same error message received on the Mac when trying to use gunzip.
Is there something I should be looking at in Mac Mail? Or, should I consider another e-mail client which will interface with my Exchange 2003 server?
Thanks,
Jay
