Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this. Here is the situation. We have 12 APs across a large building, setup on the same SSID. The admin before did not have any security applied the wireless network. I want to apply MAC filering to all the APs, is there a solution that will let me manage the MACs from a central point? The brand of APs are Proxims. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with the Proxim devices, however, I'm in the same boat using Intermec devices. I am forced to purchase new WAPS because the hardware is not globally configurable for admin purposes. My first reaction would be to contact Proxim and get their opinion. There may be a plug-in or some other software option to manage the WAPS, and push out a configuration to the wireless devices.
Keep in mind that MAC filtering alone will not secure your network from a dedicated hacker, it'll just keep you from handing out IP's to your neighbors. From a security standpoint, I'd also suggest WEP encrypting the connection.
