We have a NT4 SP6 server running MS Proxy 2 SP1. PC's can connect to FTP sites if they have the proxy client installed, but there is no proxy client installation for Macs. I've tried numerous FTP clients for Mac with no luck. What am I missing?

Hi,

MS Proxy is a proxy that support among many other things, also SOCKS. This is the only protocol that require a special client to be installed (for applications that don't know about SOCKS).
Check FAQ from Microsoft about MS Proxy 2.
What protocols can pass through Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0?

Answer:
Via the Web Proxy: HTTP, FTP, Gopher, & SSL Via the WinSock Proxy: HTTP, FTP, Telnet, RealAudio, VDOLive, etc. (any WinSock 1.1+ application) Via the SOCKS Proxy: HTTP, FTP, telnet (any client-side TCP-only, "SOCKS-compliant" application)

So, your Mac workstation should work. Check their IP configuration, check the settings for FTP client that you use.
