Hey all,

I need to give my ONE MAC USER access to a folder that is down about four levels on the server and I haven't been able to do it yet. I can access the folder from a PC, but I don't see the folder until I get down to it. To explain, on a PC typing \\server\ shows me what folder options are available like \finance or \hr or \budget. If I log in as him I don't see the lower folder until I reach it. On his Mac typing the full path doesn't work. He doesn't get any errors, he just shows an empty folder (and the folder isn't empty). Is this an issue with "passing through" folders that he doesn't have access to? How can I get his computer to see the folder?

Thanks,

Joe

Is this Mac running the old MacOS (ver 9 and earlier) or is it using MacOSX. Older MacOS would require you to load Services for Macintosh in order to be able to mount the volume, OSX would require an SMB client.

Thanks itsp1965 but he's running MacOSX. I even tried installing the Services for Macintosh but that didn't help either. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Joe

a workaround would be

subst X: (drive letter 2 assign) c:\temp\1\2\3 (path u want to access)
