Mac and PC

Hello,

This is probably obvious but I thought I would ask anyway. I was working on flash mx (on a mac) at work and I sent the file to myself via email because I thought I could work on it at home (on a pc). When I tried to open it, it said unexpected file format.

Is there anyway I would be able to work on this file on my PC? Or is there a disk that I can use for both computers?

When Mac users want to post a .fla here or on other forums, it must be zipped up so that us PC users can open it. Zip it up (on the Mac) before you send it to yourself.

ok, so zip the file, send it, then after i have finished working on the file on my pc, zip it again, then unzip on the mac?

I'm not sure (I'm not on Mac), that the PC file has to be zipped up for the Mac user to be able to open it. That you'll have to determine by testing I guess. Or can a Mac user tell us if a PC .fla can be opened normally without it being zipped?

ok, i zipped the file on the mac and opened it on the pc. so we'll see what happens when I try to open it on the mac again.

it is not necessary to zip the file when sending to a MAC. (at least with OSX)... make sure the version of flash at work is the same version used at home.

if it is a newer version of flash, you will need to save it with the older version settings to open it at home.

i was able to open it again with no problems on the mac. i didn't have to zip the file on the pc.
