Mac Agent Backup too slow

I'm backing up a Mac Agent (100GB) and the throughput is around 45MB per minute. Using an AIT 3 autoloader connected to a NT 4 server. Does anyone know why this runs so slow and is there a fix for it? I'm using Backup Exec 8.5 on 1000 base T network.
