Is there a way to find out the Netbios name of a workstation via the MAC Address? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a utility which does exactly that.

ne \macadr

and it returns the netbios info from the nic.

I have used it at work for years. If you can't find it let me know & I will post it.

yes
1) ping the computer using its name.
2) use "arp -a" it will display a table with IP, MAC Address and type
3) Use "nbtstat -C" and and a table with ip with Netbios name and ip, will be displayed.
4) Associate the IP address on netbios table with ip addres in the arp table.

althow the steps 3 and 4 may be change with "ping -a IP_ADDRESS". It will resolve the netbios name by IP.

The firts Step is essencial, to put associate the MAC Address with the Ip, if you don´t do this, the ip and MAC address will not appear

Great! Thanks again for your help folks. I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow.

Hi again folks. For Wayne, I've tried the ne \macaddress and, forgive me, but I don't think I could run that. Could you please tell me more about this utility and how I could run it. Thx.
