I have someone using software that is tied to a MAC address, the network card that it was tied to broke so I put a new card in and spoofed the address to make the software work, this was a few months back.

Someone's network card died yesterday, I grabbed one off the shelf and stuck it in, not realising it was the one I had taken from the first machine mentioned above, thus causing a conflict and both machines disconnecting from the network.

I now cannot use that specific MAC address at all, it's as though the PDC has blacklisted it,
Does anyone know where this info is/how it has done it?

I tried deleting and recreating the computer account on the domain, but it just won't connect to the network. As soon as I spoof the MAC address to the
one that had previously been duplicated it can't connect to the network.

Any help much appretiated!!

Fixed it, it was a netgear hub that was stopping the mac address.
