M940 copying problem

I have a Xerox M940. When i try to copy it says "Unable to copy out of Cyan Ink". Do i need Cyan(or any other color ink) to make b/w copy ?? Does anybody knows solution for this ?
I can't attach the scanner. When i try to install the software from the CD it says incompatible version already installed remove it and i had no version installed.
