M7410 Range

I have a customer with an M7410 cordless phone that functions fine but has a limited range. The problem is primarily with the construction of their building. They work in a proshop at a golf course in the basement of an OLD brick building. They would like to use the phone outdoors. I have disassembled the phone and attached an antenna wire leading outdoors but it has resulted in a negligible difference. Any insight would be helpful
