M7324 w/CAP locked in Call Fwd - how to disable? 1

I have an M7324 w/CAP module that was set up originally as a CAP and Control set for a couple of lines...it had been call-fwded to another (non-CAP) extension while people shuffled desks. During the move, 'Set Relocation' was turned on. Then someone tried to move the 7324 - although the DN and its programming seem to follow it Ok, the desk set is unusable...the display says "Forward#...nnnnnnn" (n is the number, and it's an EXTERNAL DID for another extension...don't ask me, I'm new here ;-)). The only option on the display is button 3 (display button 3) which reads "FWD #". Button 13 (Call Fwd) has the indicator arrow lit. However, hitting *ANY* button on the phone produces a loud two-tone error beep and the message "INCOMING ONLY" on the display, which after a few seconds shifts back to the original msg.

Sorry if this is simple...I'm a phone n00b, used to linux/solaris wrangling. I'm learning that phones are harder.

ADD'L INFO:

-The State in TERMINALS&SETS for this DN is "Idle"
-I can DISABLE and then ENABLE the DN; the desk set displays "IN MAINTENANCE" and then when re-enabled, goes through the autoconf blinking and comes back
-When I try to run a BERT test on the phone, it says "BERT Denied"
-When I call the DN for this phone, the caller's display flashes "3801" (username) and then quickly switches to "LINE 022"...I thought this meant perhaps line redirection, but I can't decipher how that works or is set up/disabled, at least, not well enough to feel OK monkeying with it on the live system.

Any help is much, much, much appreciated and can be redeemed for beer in Boston. :)

Have you tried just doing a Feature # 4 on the set? MRoberts

I can't do a Feature # 4...hitting *any* button on the set (including Feature, rls, the keypad, whatever) produces the tone and 'INCOMING ONLY'. Is there a way to perform a 'remote' feature-4 on a set? I couldn't figure it out. :)

What about moving the cross connects at the block to another port?
You can always go in and change DN if they want a specific extension number. MRoberts

mroberts- I may end up doing that. However, the problem is that I am low on ports, and that solution both implies losing a port as well as manually reprogramming a 72-button CAP. Aigh.

It sounds like one of your incoming lines button is stuck on your phone. Check them out, see if each one presses up and down smoothly.
A button stuck in the down position will cause any other button pressed to react like it.

lowradiation-

You, sir or ma'am, are the MAN (gender neutral term of respect :)). That was, indeed, the problem...the buttons weren't stuck, but one of them had a bad contact; blasting canned air under it fixed the problem. Thank you thank you!
