Dear all,
I am having a problem with my motherboard which is giving short beeps and not starting. I have done some research on the internet and found that the motherboard is called M537. I even got the manual, which did not include a troubleshooter. (It is an old computer I am trying to upgrade)
A few days ago, I have inserted new RAMS in it, not knowing that I should not put DIMs with SIMs together and I have also inserted DRAM in the place of SIMs without changing the jumper. (I did not have the motherboard's manual before). Would this be the cause of this behaviour? What can I do to fix the problem now.
My motherboard is a PC Chips M537, Award Bios (VXPro and Houston Tek chips are installed in the motherboard).
Please let me know if I could do anything to fix it...
Thank you for your time.

Does it start working if you replace the original SIMM chips into their sockets and remove the DIMMs?

No I have tried removing and reinstalling the ones that were working but everything I tried did not work. I have even tried doing it the right way, changing the jumper and installing the DRAM. Still the beeps and nothing on the screen.. Although I can hear that sound that the pc does when starting when it counts the RAM...
