Greetings ~

We have a user on cs1000e rls 4.5 - m3904. She intermittently looses the transfer capability. The soft key is still present - just can't complete the transfer - reset of the phone temporarily clears the trouble.

This is an isolated trouble - we've replace the phone - changed to different feed pair - outed TN - built to new TN - the issues surfaces about every three weeks

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

is it the xfer type that is causing the problem. external vs internal?

is the user trying to transfer before the call is complete

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS AND AVAYA

Appears to be internal XFER

I spoke with the end users - she mentioned she has received an outside call - the caller asks to be transferred to said party - she then presses XFER soft key - dials 4 digit ext - gets VM greeting of said ext - presses # - unable to XFER caller to VM

She then looses XFER capability until her phone is reset

I would run a firmware update on the phone. It's possible she is just getting old phones that were never perfected by Nortel until someone actually used them.

The 39xx series was tested by whom... then released. I'm not sure anyone tested them.

what happens if she xfers it w/o # during greeting, same thing?

GH is on the right track
in LD 32 type FWVU 12 0 1 2 (that's the TN of her phone)
if the phone is firmware version 87 then
type in FDLU 12 0 1 2
Her phone will be off line while the firmware is downloading
so you may want to call her first

I have seen this problem on M3904 with rel 6.0 and firmware that is less than 94. The connect button disappears after the transfer button is pressed.

ok - here's the FWVU

fwvu 12 0 1 2
****M3900 VERSION REPORT****
TERMINAL TYPE = 020
CORE FIRMWARE VERSION = 024
FLASH FIRMWARE VERSION = 089

Now... keep in mind - this is the only user reporting this problem and this occur in 3 week increments

Questions:

What is the latest m3904 firmware I'm suppose to be running ion these phones?

Why are the core firmware and flash different?

Are we talking about blind transfer or supervised transfer??
