M3903 configuration assistance

Hi,

I'd like to ask if it is possible to configure a group of 4 M3903's to share the same primary DN so that anyone can pick up multiple calls on that DN. I see M3903's configured with SCR 8xxx and the term SCR throughs me off a little. I was under the impression that SCR means it will take a single call, so having an SCR appear as primary on multiple phones equates that only 1 call can be handled and once the call is answered on a phone, the next call will go to voice mail - is this correct.

The idea is to have 4 M3903's with shared primary line so that the group can answer a call each on the same number, then after 4 calls (each phone having 1 call on primary line) additional calls will land on line 2 (also a shared line on all 4) of the M3903's until the 4 again are loaded up and then calls will forward to voice mail on the 9th call and so on (or on RNA will forward to another DN in the building).

Thank you for your input in advance.

You see "SCR" keys. That is one call per directory number.

You could try "MCR" keys. That is multiple calls per director number. To do that, you have to "NUL" each appearance of the SCR and THEN you can add it back as MCR.

There are flaws - but it might work for you. One flaw is if you only have three people staffed - the 4th phone will ring but nobody is there. The first three people are on calls and cant get the 4th call.

I think I understand your question.
You can have that same DN appear on (4) phones with rollovers, set the primary (MARP'd) phone for HTA, Last Hunt key 3, Hunt to voicemail.
The MARP'd phone dictates the hunt sequence (LHK 3)and the HUNT to voicemail DN target.
8xxx rolls to 18xxx when the first phone is busy, then rolls to 118xxx when the 2nd phone is busy, and so on.
You don't need to have the HUNT target and LHK on the other (3) phones, doesn't matter - the MARP'd phone dictates the hunting.
This is what we do;

^^ I like that! it's similar to the way we do it only I have never built multiple rollovers like that. I may try to set up a few like that myself.....

Thank you for your input! A few more questions:

1) if I assign the primary DN on all 4 phones as MCR 8001 on key 00 and then have key 01 all share MCR DN 8002 - will this result in all 4 phones having the ability to answer 1 call each on DN 8001 and then 1 call each on DN 8002... and if all 4 phones have the FDN of 8002, will the 5th call on DN 8001 roll over to DN 8002

I'm somewhat new to the Nortel option and some of the abbreviated terminology is registering as I'm sure you can all empathize with... hopefully. I mention this because MARP'd is new as well as Virtual TN.

2) is a Virtual TN the same as a Phantom TN?

3) i noticed the multiple lines appearing on a MARP'd phone 18xxx, 118xxx etc... but the 3903 only has 2 line button so where would these lines appear?

thank you

To be honest I'm a little new to Nortel as well, or at least it feels like it.

1. I really don't use MCR much at all but your logic looks right (someone else may have to verify the FDN/MARP'd question)

2. Again I'll let someone else explain it better but I see why you would ask that. Phantom TN is merely a software only number.

3. You have Lines 3 and 4 if you press the Shift button. Calls on Line 3 & 4 will flip back automatically for you to see the call and the CLS-IRA (w/LPK) will allow you to simply lift the handset to answer.

I can't seem to edit my messages but this is a better link to Mike's PBX Cookbook Link

thank you again for your input... so I have managed to get shared DN MCR 8437 on line 1 of multiple M3903's and shared DN MCR 4437 on line 2 of the same M3903's. When the phones are busy on line l, call automatically roll over to MCR 4437.

Question: how can I duplicate this on a analog phones... there are 2-line analog phones and will need to have line 1 DN SCR 8438 on analog 500 phone hunt to line 2 DN SCR 4438

Thank you!

also... along the same lines, there is a 4-line analog phone that will need to be set-up to answer 4 analog lines in Hunt. Primary SCR 8401, then SCR 8402, then 8403, then 8404... then if possible, if all 4 lines are used, the 5th call is to roll-over to digital 8437... can someone please assist with input on the config on the 500 TNs to accomplish this... thank you
