M3902 and 3904 sets

Will the M3902 and 3902 sets work on an Option 11C system running release 23.11 software, if I program them as 2616 sets?

They would have some function yes, but will not work properly and would not have all functions.

I would imagine you wouldn't have access to the higher key functions.

Key 3 Secondary Directory Number or Feature or Auto Dial.
Note: Keys 1-3 cannot be configured as:
• 3 Party Conference
• 6 Party Conference
• Call Forward
• Account Charge
• Calling Party Number
• Call Park
• Privacy Release
• Ring Again
• RPN
• Call Transfer

23 be used for Speed Call features.

Minimum release for M3900 telephones is X11 25.08. Using the "Phase 3 functionality" (full duplex handsfree, callers list, redial list, personal directory, corporate directory) requires X11 25.40 or higher.

Once upon a time we had some phase 1 3904 sets on a switch running release 23 and progammed as 2616 sets. They worked fine. Just had to manually label the keys. Key labels were lost if the phone was unplugged.
