Hi Everyone

I'm new to the board and was wondering if anyone can help me with an issue my customer is experiencing.

On their switchboard phone (m2250)when they call external numbers they get through fine but when they have to dial a six (6) digit extension their phone system will not allow them dial more than two (2) digits for the extensions. Other phones at m2616s and they are able to dial out to 6 digit extensions.

thanks

Are the e.g. xxxxxx extension numbers within the phone system, or are they external ones?. It seems odd that they can't be dialled from the attendant console.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Have you physically watched them dial the number? If this is a new to M2250 person, they may not know how to dial extensions, they could be trying to dial them as an external number and the digits do not match up with local numbers and fails almost immediately.
Also, is the 6 digit extensions in the same building/system or in another PBX through tie lines etc?

I suspect this is the M2250 dialing a number, then reaching an Auto Attendant, then trying to dial an extension. The fix for this is to use the EES Key on the console.

Sounds like 'EES Key' (End to End Signalling) if is not being selected before dialling from 2250 keypad to generate
DTMF Tones, thats if its programmed at all ?

Cheers!!
