Hi'

I have an M2250 console, it was working fine then on the display, the status became 'Diagnostic' and when I try pressing other buttons, nothing happens, I tried to reset the console, digital card, and finally the system, and still with the same status.

Is this console defective or am I in Diagnostic mode?

Thanks!
:D

How do you exit it? we pressed all the buttons but no reaction whatsoever....

Press the shift key and then the 3rd button from the right above the dial bad

Hi,

Sorry it took awhile, we finally tested the console, the 'diagnostic' mode is still visible and the M2250 is still locked, we did the Shift f3 and we successfully entered the Diagnostic menu, we tested all and again successful, we entered '#' and exited, but, the 'diagnostic' is still there. We had an old M2250 tested on the same TN and the reaction was different, after the Shift f3 and #, it went on a night mode state.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!:D

One of the results from this forum was "perform some change in LD12 to this console TN". At least one poster said that worked for them

Hi Again!

We Finally had a chance to test the console, we did some programming changes on LD12, deleted the program and re-prorgammed again but still the 'Diagnostic' word is still there.

As an isolation, we used another console, and it works fine, from the diagnostic menu, to exit, normal use, night mode, etc..

So we ruled out the lines, digital card, programming and the system itself.

We will try the Console on another system but on the above mentioned, any other thoughts or suggestion?

Again, thanks very much!!! :D

The M2250 has its own diagnostic capabilities. To run diagnostics:
1. Press Shift
2. Press the function key F4
3. Enter the password (9999)
4. Use the * to enter the diagnostic menus and to toggle between menu 1 or 2.
5. Use the # to quit from diagnostic mode.
Most of the test results are self -explanatory, however some of the tests may result in a failure code.

Codes 40H 20H and 10H indicate component failures. Power the console down then up, unplug the line cord, re-insert and restore power. If still faulty there is an electrical fault , the console will need to be returned.

Codes 08H ,09H to 0FH refer to key failures in the columns A to F .The test procedure is to power the console down, free the key if stuck and power the console back up. If still faulty power down the console again ,unplug the line cord and reset the power. If the fault still persists the console is faulty and should be returned.

The full details of these tests are contained in NTP 553 2201 117. This is the Planning and Engineering guide Book 1 of 3 - M2250 Attendant Console.

Common Problems-

1. The Meridian Communications Adapter MCA- Installation and configuration details are contained in NTP 553 2731 109 - Meridian Data Services Book NTCK29.

2. Difficulties are encountered when putting the Attendant Console into night service, the display shows BUSY instead of NITE.

This is normally due to an Attendant Overflow DN (AODN) defined in Ovl 15,
not having its Make Set Busy key (MSB) operated.

To save going and placing all the appearances of the AODN into MSB from the Attendant Console you can force the system into N/Service by using ... ... Shift + Night.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Hi to all!

Just want to say THANK YOU for all your technical information, unfortunately, the console really looks defective so we just had it replaced, now everything is back to normal.

Again Thanks! :D
