i have a console in another state that's not receiving calls. Callers are going to our auto attendant. A vendor is already dialed in so I can dial in myself but i was wondering if the 2-prong handset is plugged in upside-down, could that cause the console to remain in NITE?

I just now found out that the console is NOT stuck in NITE, as had been erronously reported to me, but rather there's no power to it at all. I am now going on the assumption that the entire console needs to be replaced. Thank you anyway for your assistance.

you can print your rdb, a * will appear beside the active idc table letting you know if the switch is in nite.

thank you. If I stat the console TN in LD 80 can't I tell there as well? And since the console is now without power does that automatically mean the console needs to be replaced? Or can it simply be reset somehow?

the console should work without power if both tns are good and the jumpers didn't "jump" off the block. the power is required if your console is for distant operation only and i;ve seen them work 500 feet without power. nortel does not support a no power console.. ld 80?..you may be able to trace the tn but i have never used 80 for that, the swithc night/day mode controls day and night idc, acd groups control their day and night with the 1st person to log in.. a switch with no console is in night as far as i know
