I have 80+ old M2008 phones taking up valuable storage space and I've finally been given the green light to dispose of them. Is there any secondary market for these at all or should they just go into the dumpster?

i'm in about the same shape, i guess you could try ebay, i haven't searched that site as of late but some do sell there. i tried to sell our old mermail and it ended up in the dumpster..

Alot of resellers will take them as trade ups for 3900 series phones. You might not get much but it's worth it.

Nobody wants my old Mermail 13 either so I guess it's dumpster time.

Thanks,

Greg

We still use 2008's,

where are you located??? might make a deal with ya...

don't mail 13 have to match the system it goes with?

the dongle does but anyone can use the cards or get keycodes via nortel.. they are not worth much but if your maintaining one spare cards are always a plus

I found a business from the internet that took my old phones, and they paid the shipping, i just took there money. Try www. businesstelephone. com. The phones were in good condition, but were just laying around here collecting dust, I was happy with the check, get the money to our Scout Explorers.

I know 2 of my vendors sell refurb phones so I assume they buy them too (else where do they get them to refurb) - Let me know if interested and I'll put you in contact with them (Provided that doesn't violate any TOS for these forums)

I'm waiting for my vendor to try one more outlet before I officially give up. If they can't find a buyer then I've been authorized to just give them away. I'll post back when that happens and whoever wants them can come get them.

In in the Portland, Oregon area by the way.

There is a couple of places here in Texas you might want to try. One is a company called Jabbercom and the other is a company called TRCA. I know TRCA has a website, don't know about Jabbercom though. TRCA does business with other places around the US. You might want to try one of those two. Just a suggestion. I have done business with both in the past.

1nationtech dot com definitely buys old phones - specializing in Nortel/Norstar - mine is in FLorida but they just got bought by a larger company that may have locations in Oregon

Lee, you can put links to web sites in your post.. fyi

Thanks John - I wasn't sure (though now that I think about it, if it was bad form, my little obfuscation would have still been bad. I'm glad it's OK! :) )

Eddie - AO in NC? I've dealt with them too - good guys.

There's tons of companies out there that buy used telecomm equipment and computers.

Tricky part is finding the ones that are willing to pay freight.

I recently donated of a bunch of old computer stuff and phones from some really old company's system to a program that teaches IT to the homeless. They even came all the way up to my office to take it out to their truck.

PBExchange is another place that might want them. We've bought our 2008s (and others) from them for years. 2008 is our standard model. "Special" people get 2616 or 3904.
