That basically sums up what is going on. I have a crappy(technical term) Lexmark Z611 running on XP recently updated to SP3 with all updates installed. Im not 100% sure if this issue happened right after the updates or just before as users tend to wait and tell of their issues.
With Outlook open and an email that you want to print, you have two options of which the default is Memo Style, the other option is Table View I think. Memo prints out the email while Table prints out everything on the "Outlook Screen" meaning Inbox contents and the general table layout of Outlook as opposed to the email you are currently reading. Table View Print works fine as does every other facet of printing in and out of Outlook. Just when you try to print the current email or go to a Print Preview, it pops up an error saying, "Cannot load library LXBCPRP.dll. Using defaults Error 126." You have to click on Ok in that dialog box like 10 times and it will go away and finally print the message. Like I said, everything prints fine except for this instance.
Things I did on this PC before I was made aware of the issue, and as I said not sure if the issue predated these procedures;
1) Ran CCleaner and Defraggler as general PC upkeep
2) Removed old printers from Add Remove Programs and ran CCleaner again
3) Updated with new updates and got to SP3 so I could remove FProt AV and install MBAM and MSE.
4) Ran scans with MBAM and MSE which found nothing.
What I have tried to do to fix the situation:
1) Download a new driver off of Lexmark and copy over the specified DLL to system32 and in spool folders
2) Uninstalled and reinstalled driver with running CCleaner in between
3) Did a "Add Remove Features" with the Office package and removed Outlook and OneNote and then had it add Outlook back
4) Uninstalled Office 07 and reinstalled. Was hoping for a clean Outlook upon the first open of it when I reinstalled it but it already had a default PST and was set up as it was before.
5) Uninstalled Office and driver installing Office first then driver
6) Put back in all reg entries I removed with CCleaner via the backup I made before doing so
7) Called Lexmark and all they wanted to do was remote in.. Tried asking what file paths the driver is installed to and what reg key paths are created but either he didnt know or wouldnt tell me. Asked for tier 2 tech support and was told I would get a call back, no dice.
8) Stared menacingly at it for a while
Questions I have:
1) Why when I uninstalled Office did Outlook retain all info when reinstalled? Thinking about uninstalling again and rummaging through the drive and physically deleting all folders with its name.
Any ideas or theories as to what happened are welcome. Ive seen this issue prevalently with OpenOffice in my Googly searches. which was fixed with an upgrade to the latest OO package. I have a license of Office 10 I could install but would rather save if I dont HAVE to use it. Please no comments on what a POS printer this is or how horrible Lexmark is, all of this Im aware as this equipment was here before me. Changing out the printer is an option as well but seems a bit drastic for this scenario of a missing DLL.
