Hey guys..

Does anybody know anything about the Lucent PassageWay, or have any links to real documentation?

From what I'm seeing on Avaya's site, there doesn't appear to be any documentation for the Merlin Legend version of this device.

Second question being, where would one find software for this, or is the serial protocol that it uses documented somewhere?

Thanks in advance!

It's pretty expensive per seat, uses the MLX=10 and 16 DP phones, is used to link phone call to database of contacts. Customers who look at it and then turn away turn away on price not features.

Well.. I just bought the little link box, without software for $1.99 on EBay.. At that price, I buy stuff just for the experimentation value. :)

So, now you understand why I'm asking. I WILL have the unit very soon, and unless I find out some things about it, I'll have to shelve it indefinately.

Thanks!

The last time I priced it to a customer, it was something like $300-$450 per user, from Avaya. The box was not the problem.

You mean for the software component? I don't understand that. From the documentation I've actually found, the software is some really cheesey Win16 stuff that barely did anything..

I can't imagine having to pay that much for it! What you're telling me though is the software is not "free if you own the hardware", eh? hrm.. ok..

Thanks!

Groundwire,

I used to run passageway for legend several years ago, I had Leg R4.1 then. It's was attached to the other port on My MLX-20L, and serial port on PC, I had Win 95 at the time, and upgraded to Win Me, in 1999. If I remember right after 2000, it had issues displaying the date correctly. I deleted it then, if I remember right, the program was on one, or two floppy disks. I have Win XP now, ( Magix R2.1 )if I can find the disks I'll try it for the hell of it, the cable is still behind My 20L on My desk.
