have a Lucent partner system phone. Was working fine. today the auto attendant will not pick up. VMS button rings with busy signal if pushed.
Line assignments are still assigned, as well as ringing assignments. Not sure what to check next. No low battery warning and still is holding date and time.

Try dialing your VM ports directly. If you get a busy signal the VM ports have not initialized. This is often caused by a failed hard drive. You can try doing a #728 which is a soft reset that retains programming. But do back it up first just to be sure.

The OP didn't mention which AT&T/Lucent/Avaya voicemail system is present.

If it is a Partner Mail VS or Avaya Partner Messaging....in addition to what pm suggested....check to see if any of the alarm LEDs are lit on the voicemail module itself.

If the voicemail is a Partner Mail, (the stand-alone wall-mounted voicemail), check to make sure it is powered up.

If the voicemail is a Partner Voice Messaging (a PCMCIA card that is inserted into an available slot on the Partner processor), chances are that the PCMCIA card is bad.
