I just received this system and have a problem right away. I am very used to programing Panasonic PBX's but this is new to me.

I am looking to set up the voicemail, and following the manuel hit "intercom, then 777"

It hits a bizzy signal when I hit the third 7.

It has Partner Mail VS 2pt/20box Comcode 847180783

Thanks!

You have to determine the extension numbers of the voice mail ports, and assign them to Hunt Group 7.

Those extension numbers are going to vary, depending on what modules you have in your system, and the order that they are installed.

I believe they are 40 and 41. When I go to these extentions, the auto attendant answers. Am I correct?

If so, how do I program the hunt group?

Thanks!

If you're sure they are 40 and 41, (Feature 00, Left Intercom Twice) then #505-7-40-1, #505-7-41-1.

Tommy, you da man. That worked perfectly.

Can i ask another newbie question?

If I have the Partnermail VS 2 port 20 box expansion card what does that mean I have total?

And what does that mean? 2 port, does that mean 2 incoming accesses to voicemail at once?

Thanks again, you are a huge help.

Yup, two things can happen in voice mail at the same time.

Calls to the Auto Attendant, folks checking their messages, only 2 can happen simultaneously.

Up to 20 extensions can have mailboxes with your system.

You would do well to go to and grab the (free) manuals for your stuff.

I assume I upgrade that with a new card? Do you sell them?

Thanks again.

You can purchase a 4-Port license from many online vendors.

Given that Avaya no longer supports Partner Mail VS R1->R4 systems (and barely supports the R5), upgrading to the Avaya Partner Messaging is worth considering. [smile]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
