Lucent MAX 3048 Config

I have a Lucent MAX 3048 box that I am configuring. The RADIUS authentication is working and I have access to network servers but I can't log into the Win2K domain or access domain services.

I believe that this can be remedied by using PPTP or L2TP to a VPN server. When I try to enable PPTP tunneling on the MAX 3048, the tunneling feature is not accessible.

Lucent wants ~$1000 service contract to tell me if this is the right approach. I am being told (by other technical contacts)that I need a hash code to enable the tunneling features on the MAX box. Can anyone confirm this? Is there any way to obtain the hash code without getting an expensive service contract from Lucent?

Yes, you will need the PPTP hashcode. But you do not require a contract to purchase it. You can purchase it by calling Lucent Sales or one of their resellers.

Either way, the hashcode is not free. In the end Lucent has control of their hashcode database and has to be issued by Lucent.
