Hi,

Somebody was kind enough to post the details fro making a cable to connect a PC to a Lucent Legend for Tapit EX a while back. I wonder if anybody can give a few more details. Anybody know what port do you plug into on the Legend? Is there any configuration required on the Legend side. I have an evaluation copy that I'd like to try before I fork over a grand for the licensed version.

Thanks,

Bruce

Plug it into the SMDR port. The top port of the 2 ports on the processor card.

Both the Admin and SMDR port are already used.
We have an Intuity PC & I assume the call acounting software on the Intuity is using the SMDR port now. I suspect I can unplug the cable from the SMDR port & my admin stuff will still work on the Intuity. But... I think I'll read for a while. :)

I would ask, which call accounting software do you wish to use INTUITY or TAPIT?

HINT, I have actually seen a splitter used so two serial connections can be made at the same time, simultaneously too......

>INTUITY or TAPIT?<
I've used Intuity and it is a little primitive.
What I really wanted was to get more info on a report, i.e.
incoming call details. My equipment supplier sent me a demo disk of Tapit to try. Now that I see they both use the same port I'm guessing I won't get any additional info. Is Tapit just a nicer interface?

That is correct. Tapit is just a nicer interface. For incoming call information you would need a T1 or PRI and that type of facility reproting to the SMDR port on a legend is minimal. I don't know if it is beneficial to you, what you might be looking for is a software program that connects via a CTI link on the system. The CTI link is mainly for databases and call center type applications. I am not well versed in different applications utilising the CTI link on the legend, but I'm sure there is someone in this forum that knows.
