Lucent 5E Series 2

Does anyone know how old the Lucent 5E switch is? I have plenty of experience on the Lucent G3r and SI series, as well as the Avaya S8710 and S8720 series switches. I just can't recall ever hearing this sort of switch... Thanks!

If I am not mistaken, those are switches use at the carrier level.

The 5ESS is a local CO switch. Been around since the mid-1970's. Preceeded by the 1ESS. Both were manufactured by Western Electric for the Bell System and also sold to other carriers.
