Hi, all
I'm using Netbackup 3.4 with OverLand LTO library (4 x Drives) connected with fiber. The library always prompt alarm alert "Fault Code 3015 (Soft) Drive Timeout Failure" when I press the resume button, it prompt "Fault Code 3075 (Soft) Drive 1 Eject Failed" the tape still loaded in the concerned drive with status "Busy" it cannot eject by manual until power OFF & ON the library and the status will change to "loaded". The fault symptom always occued in 4 drives in random
When this fault occured, it always affected other drives to make them "hang up" with the /var/adm messages as below

[ID 306692 daemon.error] TLD(1) transport read_element_status error, CHECK CONDITION
[ID 239398 daemon.error] TLD(1) key = 0x0, asc = 0x0, ascq = 0x0, NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION

Is the fault cause of H/W or S/W?
Any time setting for tape eject?
Pls suggest....Thanks

Rgds

Hi, comtec17
We are running OS Solaris 8.0

This is sounds like a Hardware issue. Can you run Robtest located in the /usr/openv/volmgr/bin directory and test your drives? Are these drives and the robot connected via Fibre to a switch or are the drives SCSI and the library has a SCSI/Fibre bridge with a single connection to the SAN?

Robtest without problem and my LTO library is connected with a fibre switch directly
I feel that the drive cannot find out the tape index and forward to the last of tape when positioning, when it wanted to backward, the drive ejected time out. May be the drive found lower sensitivity
I have try to set the tape mount time out from 0 (no timeout) to 20 (20mins)to limit the mounting time, so if the tape mount over 20mins it will reject and show status code 52. It is the better way that all the drives are hang up together.....!!
