Anyone using LTO drives and TSM? We have an IBM3584 with 6 drives the problem i am having is with TSM reclamation, there are not enough hours in the day to do it. The reason seems to be because TSM compression along with the LTO hardware compression is yielding up to 500gb per tape, with this amount of data it is taking approx 2hours per tape to reclaim. The situation we are ending with are lots of tapes with less than 20% active data that we cannot reclaim. Welcome any thoughts or suggestions?

Apart from the above we are not having any problems with LTO have been using them for 6 months.

General recommendations are to disable software compression if you have a tape that provides hardware compression.
