<?= or <?php any difference? 1

Hi,
I'm currently developing a website based on Wordpress and I've noticed a few times in the scripts that the author has used <?= instead of <?php

Is there any reason for this? Is there any differences between the two?

Also, while I've got someone's attention who knows what they're doing.. what about <? (i.e. with the 'php').

Which is the best way to 'open' php code?

Hi

Read Description of core php.ini directives | Language Options | [tt]short_open_tag[/tt].

I always use [tt]<?php ?>[/tt] to not have surprises when the code has to run on a system where [tt]short_open_tag[/tt] is off.
