<input..... type="file"... default directory query

Is it possible to set initial (default) directory for file type input. I am working on a project for the computer terrified and am confident that I can coach them into selecting a file but really can't see them tackling directories & subdirectories.

On a similar point is it possible to default to a particular file? I have tried putting a value= tag but this seems to be ignored.

As far as I know, you cannot set any parameters of the file browse dialog.
