<Blank> Tape AS7

I have pretty much no Experience with ARCServer but somehow I ended up having to take care of it.

Does Arc Server assigna Serial# to the tapes ?

When given a list of Media I can use for the next job, it given me

W-PHSH-10-14 (SERIAL#)
<BLANK> (NO SERIAL#)
<BLANK> (SERIAL#)

It failled the back up a couple times because I put in a Blank tape with a SERIAL# and it asked one w/o S#

ARCserve will not assign blank media serial numbers. It sounds like the second media was formatted at one time by a job that uses a media pool. then erased, but the serial number of the tape is still linked to the tape.

Can I remove the SERIAL # ??
