Hi,

I am using software that requires Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.4.0_02 using JRE version 1.4.0_02 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM.

As expected, the Java Console loads and appears as an icon on my taskbar. Without launching the same software again that launched the first java console, another java console appears on the taskbar.

Why does this occur? If the second java console launched due to other software loading, is it normal or good practice to have 2 java consoles running? Is the second occurrence of java console even valid?

Thanks for your advice!

What are you using the plugin to view ? Applets ?

Hi Sedj,

I believe it is an applet. Not being a programming expert I'm not sure of the inner workings.

When you say "console on the taskbar" - do you mean two "Java coffee cup" icons ? If so , then this is normal.

If not, I wouldn't have thought it was anything to worry about !
