I am developing a number of corporate web pages which have to be accessable for users with various disabilities.

I have used <Alt> tags to provide alternative text for images and was thinking about doing the same with page links and navigation links.

Is this worthwhile?

I have read that as long as links are clearly defined and separated browsers will recognise them as links without an <Alt> tag saying something like &quot;Link to Home Page&quot;.

If it is necessary to provide alternative text for links, which tag is best <Alt> tags, which do not seem to appear when hovering over a link, or <Title> tags which can be seen.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Well you are right alt tags will not work for links. However if you are just using text based links I do not see any advantage to having any alt text, one thing that you might find useful if you are trying to make the links more visible is to make a highlight appear around the link when the mouse is over it, or even just making the link text bold when the mouse moves over it. But you might want to look into a free product called overlib which you can find here
Well I hope this helped

Thankyou Roj,

I am already using CSS to change link colours for active, hover, link and visited.

Is there any mileage in using <Title> tags to show text as well? Are there any websites doing this?

Thanks.
