The Friday mystery. On several occasions over the past few months I’ve had the following event happen:
A printer connected to a system via lpt1 will switch to DOT_4 after the system has been through a power down and a restart via the power switch. The printer is shared on the network. Any other systems connecting to the shared printer cannot print until the printer on the host system is switched back to lpt1.
The OS is XP pro sp2 . The printers are various HP models.
Any ideas as to what causes this and can it be prevented?
