any ideas

looking at the print queues through smit shows all queues

assumming you have networked printers, ping all of them to make sure you can reach them

You may have a queue down, If you leave it long enough it will come back. Try using qchk

I use 'enq -As' and with that command you can grep for various conditions.

as suggested my mrn,breslau queues down / network problems will cause lpstat to hang , if you want a list of all queues
configured without the delay try lsallq command

Thankyou all, I have found that one of the network printer is not reachable via a ping.... thanx all

'enq -qs -A -W' works fine for me.
