We had 2 remote printers pointing at different queues on the same PC. We set up a new PC with an updated version of the form printing software we're using, and set up 2 new remote printers. This was so we could test the new ones while still using the old ones, and eventually use the new ones while keeping the old ones as backup for a time.
The print jobs print just fine, no problems there.
The problem is when I do an lpstat to check the status of all printers. It hangs on these new remote queues for some reason and doesn't move past the last print queue to show the 2 remote queues on the bottom, or their status.
The old queues were ins4 and ptlinkup2. The new ones are named ins5 and plu. In smit they were set up identically to the old ones (other than variances in the name). Yet we never had this problem with the old queues!
If I do a lpstat -pplu or lpstat -ins5 it will show the status of those queus singly. But to view all printers in a list with lpstat does not work.
We hae AIX version 4.3
