lp history

Does anyone know of a way to find the "history" of a given printer / print queue? We have a Solaris 6 server that serves about 68 printers. What we need to find out is how many print jobs are sent to each printer of a given period of time. We are trying to determine which printers are being utilized the most / least.

Hi Jason,

try looking at /var/lp/logs/requests and variants (eg requests.1). This may give you the details you are looking for, but you may have to unravel it a little first (try grepping for individual printernames?).
