Hi,
Our OS is Solaris 5.8
I want to print a text file to a GENERIC TEXT printer using command "lp -o width=132 -d printername filename" ,
but the Solaris told me:
Warning: printer not configured to handle all lp options:
ignoring: -o lwidth=132

Dose any body can help me how to troubleshoot this issue?
Please, I don't need postscript options.

Thanks in advantage !

all lp -o Options are just for local queues, that's why lp command ignores your with or any other -o Option.

You can configure your networked printer using the netstandard interface acting like a local printer and accepting all -o Options. Just google for "Solaris netstandard lpadmin" or search this forum, I think I've postetd the commends once or twice...

Best Regards, Franz
