I have been told I need to low level format my SCSI hard drive but am not sure how to. I was told that a utility will be available in the scsi bios but again am not sure how to do gain access to this. I have a compaq AP400 professional workstation.

Any help greatly appreaciated

technotone,

Since it is a SCSI HDD you may want to do some more research on the SCSI controller you are using or even the HDD or PC manufacturer. Either of these should have a utility that will low level your drives for you. My best bet for you would be in the SCSI controller manufacturer. I know for a fact that DPT, now Adaptec, used to have this feature in their Storage Manager software.

Keep this in mind, while you are low leveling. Do not disrupt power to the device. If you do, you could damage the device permanently and never be able to use it again.

Thanks. I hope this helps! :)
