Hi Gang,
I recently received this error message:
Code:
Alert on 123SRV at 7/6/2007 2:41:37 PM

The following disk is low on free disk space. Low levels of free disk space can cause performance problems and prevent users from saving files on the disk.

Drive Letter: HarddiskDmVolumes\123srvDg0\Volume1
Free Disk Space: 0.000000. MB
% Free Disk Space: 0.000000.%

You can disable this alert or change its threshold by using the Change Alert Notifications task in the Server Management Monitoring and Reporting taskpad.

The problem is I don't know where this volume is located. We have a "C:" and an "E:" Partition. On Friday we moved our exchange database to a new partition (E:) and all went well.

Now on Monday we received this error message. I'm hoping it's a one time thing but in case it's not, how do I go about finding this volume's location?

try freeing up disk space on both partitions as thats is wot its asking, but it be where main server is set which would be C:

soz forgot to put , right click C: properties, Disk clean up is just under the pie chart,

Reboot the server and the error should go away.

This tends to happen when you have an external drive removed without properly stopping it. Do you use USB drives for backup or ever connect such drives to the server?

Thanks for the help so far. We do not use USB disks and have not done so for over a year.

I'll try cleaning up the disks, but there is over 20GB of free space on each partition.

hmm i wonder if its to do with 1 of the logs? if they get full they tend to tell u, the event viewer saveas then clear it, if uve been doing alot of changing etc this may not be ur problem but its worth a try, in the mean time ill keep my eyes open for anything else.

Do the users each have allocated disk space? this could be ur problem, try allocating them more space or get them to delete stuff they dont need etc.

I had the same problem I just did what they recommended:

"You can disable this alert or change its threshold by using the Change Alert Notifications task in the Server Management Monitoring and Reporting taskpad."

Nothing blew up, the roof did not collapse, the hard drives did not turn into frisbees. This was over a year ago. Dismiss it. Avoid the temptation to try and have the "perfect server"...there is no perfect human, nor is there the perfect server. [thumbsup]

As lwcomputing mentioned, this always has to do with external drives. They could be in any form, even thumb-drives. If, at some point, one was inserted and not properly removed when it was unplugged, it leaves a ghost in the registry that causes this error. It's nothing to worry about.
