I have a partner acs 509 r7 and I am trying to get the loud speaker paging to work with no luck, I have programmed a button on all the phones thru the pc programming software and when you hit the page button from ext. 10 the display reads 170. Also the amp that I am using is a brand named University sound does this matter?

In order for the R7 to be connected to a paging system, one of the 5 line jacks needs to be configured as a paging jack. Double check to make sure that one of the line jacks has been configured as a paging jack. (#617)

I believe that you would use the 2 center positions on an RJ-11 plug to connect to the input on the paging system.

the screen probably reads I70 aka intercom 70 the paging access

What are you using between the paging port and the amplifier? You will need some type of interface. (Page Pal, UPAM, PCM2000.......)

You kinda do need to connect the amp to the page port and no, you do not need any kind of interface.

So, just how are you trying to accomplish this? Have you even programmed a page port? What input are you using on the amp?

Plug your butt set into the paging port on the ACS, you should hear the page. If not look at your programming. If yes, look at your paging amp input specs., it must be able to accept your paging output, if the amp does not accept what you are sending try a device to adapt it. On the IPO , I use a WMT1A, or something like that(number may be off but close) The UPAM comes with one in the box, Bogen makes it and Bogen has their own nameplate version of the UPAM, so you should be able to get it from them. Bogen product is one letter different I think in the part number. It is an isolation matching transformer if I remeber correctly.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.
